APPLE TEA

I love this tea any time of the year. It is easy to make it at home with a dehydrator or just an oven.

Ingredients:

organic apples

Optional ingredients: dried rose hip, dried cranberries, dried orange peel, cinnamon bark, fresh ginger slice when making tea, chamomile tea

Method:

Make apple chips by slicing apples in 1 mm thick slices and dehydrate them following the instructions on the dehydrator. Apples do not need to be peeled. If using an oven, dry apple chips for a couple hours in the low temperature, 70 C, until it is crispy. When it cools, make crumbles from it with your hands and store in a dry jar. Add other ingredients, making sure apples still make 70% of the mixture.

To make tea, pour a cup of boiling water over 1 tsp of dried apple mixture. Leave for 2-3 minutes, strain and enjoy. Personally I do not even strain it, I just drink it with apple chunks in my cup. It is perfect for everyone, as it has no caffeine or tannin so it can be enjoyed in the evening as well. If you wish, add honey and lemon. Soaked apples and other dried fruit from the tea can be eaten right away and they taste delicious. Also, the whole house smells like apples.
